Sarah and Gabriella jetted off for Belfast to attend the Oireachtas Rince na Cruinne - commonly known as the World Irish Dancing Championships. This was the third time that Belfast has played host to the World Championships and once again they will be held at the fantastic Waterfront Theatre.
Waterfront Theatre
More than 4,000 competitors and thousands more supporters were welcomed to Belfast for eight days in March 2008 for the 38th Oireachtas Rince na Cruinne. They competed in style at the beautiful Waterfront Theatre, the showpiece of the city and top destination for national and international performers alike.
Of course there were a fair few Aussies there too. Many placed well - even some in the top ten for their respective age groups. Just goes to show that with a bit of hard work and dedication even those of us 'downunder' can hold our own on the international stage.
World Championships 2009?
Well they will be in the beautiful Kimmel Center for Performing Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. Dates are 5 -12 April 2009. Hopefully we will be going too.
